Our beekeeping set up service is perfect for beginners with limited knowledge of beekeeping and who are keen to become beekeepers.

We deliver your bees (whichever colony option you have chosen) and set up the hive in the location that you have prepared. We then give you one to one tuition on the basics of bee keeping and how to go on about looking after your colony.

You will be able to phone us for advice and ask questions in the initial season until you are up and running.

It is highly recommended that you join your local beekeepers association where you will be able to get hands on experience.

Please note you must be within 20 miles from Newbury to use this service. Other options are possible so please just ask!

As part of this service you have the option of purchasing all your timber hive parts and made up frames to make life a lot easier (we make all our hives from locally sourced storm damaged cedar)

We only offer very limited number of set ups because it takes a lot of time out of our busiest time of the season. So if this is something you are considering please book a slot as soon as you can.

    Brilliant reintroduction to beekeeping! I got my nucleus in late April and housed them into the hive and filled it with undrawn frames, loads of calm bees. Since then they’ve just gone from strength to strength and in total they have drawn out another full brood box, drawn out six supers and filled the lot with honey. No signs of swarming and no stings, lovely bees to work with and a bumper honey harvest. Would highly recommend Berkshire Bees.

    Ordered an overwintered nuc from BB and was disappointed that there were none left but I was put onto cancellation list and now happy to say I was contacted later in the year and have a nuc of bees. This year for my I have placed my order early as the overwintered nucs seem to run out quickly. They explained everything to me about settling in the bees and what I needed to do.     Ordered a queen from Berkshire Bees and got a message as to when it was being dispatched. The Lady arrived on a next day delivery service as I was told and is now in the hive and looks very good! Had a bit of problem with their emails going to spam, so check your spam folders. But all good at the end. I will use these beekeepers again.
