2024 Mated UK Buckfast Queens

Queens come in introduction cages with about 8-10 attendants. The queens will be unclipped to increase chance of acceptance into the colony. 

Shipping/Delivery
We ship our Queen Bees Monday to Thursday only (When available) by Royal Mail Special Recorded Delivery next day by 1pm.

Please ensure they can be delivered safely to your premises and are adequately protected from sun, heat or rain until hived. We are not responsible for non performance of Royal Mail or any other carrier we use. No refunds or free replacements will be issued in these circumstances.

Please ensure any special delivery requirements are noted on the order at checkout. We won't accept any liability for delay, loss or damage to your queen, unless these special delivery requirements or changes are notified to us in writing by email. We will inform you of your delivery 24-48 hour prior to delivery so please check your emails and spam folder. We ask for a phone number which we only use to contact you about your order and not for any other purpose.

Place the cage between two brood frames by suspending it from a cocktail stick. This will let the bees eat the plug of fondant and get use to the queen, before eventually releasing the queen.

To increase chance of acceptance make sure the colony is well fed. You can give the colony a feed of light syrup to create a sense of nectar flow.

Queen introduction can be tricky and may not always go to plan. Once the queen has been introduced do not open the colony for a few days in order not to disturb them and allowing the colony to fully get used to the new queen.
